2021 edition

The jury

The jury for the 32nd edition of the Pica d’Estat Prizes was formed by 11 outstanding professionals from the world of communications. The Dean of the Col·legi de Periodistes de Catalunya, Joan Maria Morros, presided over the jury, while the journalists Lourdes Ballarín, Francesc Canosa, Santiago Costa, Josep Cuní, Pepa Fernández, Lluís Foix, Francesc Guillaumet, Mariano Palacín, Mònica Terribas and Rafa Gimena, President of the Col·legi de Periodistes de Catalunya in Lleida, acted as vocals. The secretary to the jury was Juli Alegre, Head of Promotions and Marketing of the Patronat de Turisme (Tourist Board).

  1. Prize for the best written press article providing general information
    for the report “Los Pirineos atraen Nuevos pobladores en tiempos de Covid” (The Pyrenees attract new settlers in times of COVID), Rosa M. Bosch, published in the supplement of La Vanguardia “Vivir Verano” (Enjoy Summer).
  2. Prize for the best press article specialising in travel and tourism
    for the report “La Vall de Boí. Románico puro en el Pirineo” (The Boí Valley, Pure Romanesque art and architecture in the Pyrenees) written by Elena del Amo Valero, with photography by Lluís Davilla, published in the magazine Viajar (Travel).
  3. Prize for the best television broadcast
    for the report “Les bruixes porten dol” (The witches are in mourning), by Anna Solana Tomás and Pilar Granero Garrido and broadcast by RTVE Catalunya
  4. Prize for the best radio programme
    for the report “Parque Nacional de Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici. Turismo de Altura” (The Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park; High-Level Tourism), by José Lorenzo Díaz, broadcast by Cadena SER Jaén.
  5. Prize for the best international press article
    for the report “L’Urgell”, written by Marie Costa and published in the magazine Cap Catalogne.
  6. Prize for internet journalism
    for the video “Superjardins” (Super-gardens) by Damià Chacón Albà, which focuses on the flowering of the fruit trees of El Baix Segre, in Lleida Province.
  7. Prize for the best work by local media from the Lands of Lleida
    for the programme ÈM CÒ QU’ÈM by Lleida TV, a series of features in Aranese, broadcast in 2021, based on an idea by the journalist Òscar Fernández.
  8. Prize for the best photographic report and special Antonio Franco prize
    (with prize money of €10,000), for the work “La tardor s’acomiada/colors tardor” (August says goodbye/autumn colours), by the journalist Edgar Aldana Anton, published in Lectura, the supplement of the newspaper Segre.
