Pica d'Estats Awards

The “Pica d’Estats” Awards were created in 1990 by the Patronat de Turisme of the Diputació de Lleida as an annual award to recognise and stimulate tourism journalism publicising the attractions of the Pyrenees and the Lands of Lleida.

From the outset, it was conceived as a tool to promote tourism through various journalistic disciplines: print media, radio, television and, later, the internet.

The first call was announced with the aim of making natural, cultural and heritage resources visible. Over time the scheme was adapted to new formats, including digital and social media.

Since then, the Awards have established itself as a prestigious event, with a significant prize fund (€48,000 for entries in 8 categories) and a jury made up of communication professionals and representatives of the Col·legi de Periodistes, which underscores its credibility.
